WEST CHESTER, PA (July 17, 2026) – New state grant funding has been awarded to improve perinatal health care services, strengthen fire company service, and enhance municipal facilities in Chester County, state Senator Comitta announced today.
“No matter where you live, we all deserve to live and work in communities that are safe and healthy,” Comitta said. “These investments help to strengthen our health, emergency, and municipal services in Chester County, and I am pleased to work to secure this funding for a brighter and stronger future for our communities.”
The projects receiving funding through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) include:
- Paoli Hospital awarded $850,000 for a new perinatal center with a new waiting and reception area, fully equipped exam and treatment rooms, and other essential infrastructure to deliver high-quality care.
- Goshen Fire Company awarded $800,254 for add-on construction of an apparatus bay section to the existing building in East Goshen Township.
- Downingtown Borough awarded $700,000 for construction and capital improvement at borough municipal facilities.
- Londonderry Township awarded $200,000 for the demolition and renovation of the existing administrative office space, along with the construction of two new ADA-compliant additions.
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant program for the design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects.
To receive funding, projects must have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
Through her leadership in the legislature, Comitta has brought back tens of millions of dollars in RACP funding to support various community revitalization and economic development projects benefiting the people of Chester County.
