West Chester, PA (July 27, 2026) – Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations can apply for grant funding to make important security upgrades, state Senator Carolyn Comitta announced today.
Applications for the Nonprofit Security Grant Fund Program are now being accepted by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
The program offers grants between $5,000 and $150,000 to nonprofit organizations that principally serve individuals, groups, or institutions that are included within a bias motivation category for single-bias hate crime incidents as identified by the FBI’s Hate Crime Statistics publication.
“All of our neighbors, regardless of their background or faith, deserve to live in a welcoming, healthy, and safe community,” said Comitta. “I invite any nonprofit organization serving our diverse community to apply for this program so we can help ensure everyone can live, gather, and worship without fear.”
Eligible grant projects include a variety of measures to enhance security, ranging from equipment and technology upgrades to planning, threat awareness, and response training.
The application deadline is Wednesday, September 10, 2026, at 11:45 p.m.
The Pennsylvania Nonprofit Security Grant Fund Program, now in its eighth year, was established in response to the 2018 attack on the Jewish community at the Tree of Life, New Light, and Dor Hadash congregations in Pittsburgh.
