West Chester, Pa (July 6, 2026) – Starting this month, more money is heading to the pockets of seniors and adults with disabilities thanks to the Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, state Senator Carolyn Comitta announced.
The first round of checks and direct deposit payments are now being sent to residents who applied for the program, which provides up to $1000 to eligible seniors and adults with disabilities on property taxes or rent paid in 2025.
“Affordability is a top concern for many of my constituents, and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program is a lifeline for seniors and adults with disabilities who are shouldering rising costs while living on fixed incomes,” said Comitta, who serves on the Senate Aging and Youth Committee. “As the first rebate checks get sent, I encourage all eligible residents to apply for this great program and to give my office a call for in-person application assistance.”
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is available to seniors 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 and older, and adults with disabilities 18 and older with an income of $48,110 or less in 2025 (half of annual Social Security income is excluded). It is funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery.
Applications for the 2025 program will remain open until December 31, 2026.
For application information go to pa.gov/ptrr. In-person application assistance is available, by appointment, at Senator Comitta’s district office or one of her eight monthly outreach office hours across Chester County. To make an appointment call 610-692-2112.
So far in 2026, Comitta’s office has helped deliver $30,600 to Chester County residents through the program.
